How we make money
Neighborhood Picks is free for you to use. Businesses pay us in three ways, listed here in full. None of them changes a pick, its order or a coverage label.
Three sources of income
- Enhanced profiles. More photos, services and a monthly report, shown on the business's own profile only.
- Neighborhood sponsorships. One sponsor per category per neighborhood, always labelled Sponsored, shown beside the picks, never inside them.
- Quote request fees. When you send a quote request, each business you tick pays the same flat fee. We don't charge you anything.
What money never buys
- A place among the picks.
- A better position: order follows our published rules, the same for everyone.
- A coverage label: labels need evidence of work in the area. The rules

Questions about money
What does a neighborhood sponsorship buy?
A clearly labelled box beside the picks on one neighborhood page. It never puts a company inside the picks or changes a coverage label.
What happens to my details when I ask for a quote?
They go only to the companies you tick. Each pays us the same small fee. We don't sell or share your details with anyone else.
Can a company pay to change its coverage label?
No. Labels come only from a record of work in the area, the same rule for paying and non-paying companies.
